Truckee Meadows Community College is accepting applications of qualified instructors for a variety of classes offered in the Fall and Spring Semesters, including English, humanities, philosophy, social sciences, chemistry, math, geology, physics, biology and additional subjects.

To apply for the part-time instructor pool, please submit an application or call 775-673-7168.

“My first semester, I had a part-time instructor for psychology who could relate the subject matter to real life, presented challenging assignments, made class fun, was available to help, and encouraged open discussion of all the students,” said Cheril Gabbidon, TMCC student. “I retained almost everything I learned from that class, and it prepared me for many of my later classes.”

An educator currently planning for the upcoming semester believes that teaching at the college level is rewarding, an opportunity to keep skills fresh, creates work-life balance and impacts the future.

“You’re interacting with students who are soon going to a part of the workforce,” said Melissa Bullard, Spanish instructor at TMCC. “Showing an interest in and respect for students, they do respond to that and give their best. An instructor strives to connect with students and receives a big return in the classroom atmosphere and in their work.”
