Legacy Scholarship Dinner 2013
Students who received scholarships from TMCC and the TMCC Foundation for the 2013-14 school year celebrated their accomplishments by meeting their scholarship donors at the 4th Annual Legacy Scholarship Dinner on Friday, October 4.
Donors sat alongside their student recipients for dinner and a brief presentation that included remarks from Stephanie Tyler, AT&T Nevada President, and Major General Cindy Kirkland, a TMCC alumna. Over 200 students crossed the stage to receive their scholarships, which will assist with their tuition and books. This year’s scholarship students included the first recipients of the Maxine S. Jacobs Presidential Scholarships and Life Skills College Grants. Scholarships were given to over 350 students for this school year.
“We are so pleased to be able to distribute so many scholarships this year. Our students enjoyed a new scholarship application process last spring, and this event is the culmination of many months of work,” said Paula Lee Hobson, Executive Director of the TMCC Foundation. “People who donate to the TMCC Foundation also love to meet the scholarship recipients, and this event is a shining example of how we help everyone make those connections.”
Photos of the event are available at photos.tmcc.edu.
Students interested in applying for scholarships from the TMCC Foundation will apply online in the spring semester. For more information, please call 775-674-7648.
