TMCC’s Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society’s Alpha Pi Gamma Chapter honored at regional conference
On Friday, March 9, the Alpha Pi Gamma Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society at Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) attended the Nevada/California Regional Conference in Las Vegas, Nev. The conference allowed all Chapters to interact with one another and share and exchange ideas to benefit the organization nationwide. TMCC’s Alpha Pi Gamma Chapter was recognized for obtaining a Four Star plus Chapter rating and first place for its “Honors in Action” submission. Additionally, Alpha Pi Gamma Chapter President Alina Jackson was one of 750 chapter officers in the region presented with the 2nd place award for “Distinguished Officers” in the region.
Phi Theta Kappa is a non-profit organization of students whose purpose is to promote scholarship, the development of leadership and service foundations and the cultivation of fellowship among students. The organization also serves to encourage academic success and excellence. Phi Theta Kappa meets each Thursday at 5 p.m. in the Elizabeth Sturm Library at the Dandini Campus.
