Posted 02/03/2012
Truckee Meadows Community College will begin a new internship program in the spring 2012 semester for students that features a scholarship for $3,500 for 3 credits of internship and pairs students with local businesses.
The goal of the program is to inspire more TMCC students to complete internships and to showcase TMCC’s talented students to local employers.
To qualify, students must have a 2.75 grade point average (GPA), must have completed 80% of their degree credits. This program is not available for mandatory internships needed for certain degree and certificate programs. Seventy-five hours of interning equals one college credit; three credits equals 225 hours of interning.
Students will be placed with local businesses and organizations with the assistance of the college.
Applications open Jan. 17, 2012 and close at 5 p.m. on Feb. 29, 2012. To get started, students must apply for the internships and apply for the scholarship. Please contact the department chair for the discipline in which you wish to intern. For additional information, contact Deb O’Gorman 775-824-3811.
