TMCC has been awarded a $2.25 million grant from the U.S Economic Development Administration that will renovate the IGT Applied Technology Center on Edison Way in Reno.
The Applied Technology (AT) Center is the primary workforce training facility in the Reno-Sparks area for automotive and diesel technicians, HVAC/R, machining, production and industrial systems, renewable energy, and welding. The grant will fund the creation and renovation of over 7,000 square feet of instructional space and will allow for greater capacity to serve students.
The renovations will create more instructional space for hands-on learning, increase student study and support areas, and provide more comprehensive food services on-site.
This grant submission was a partnership between TMCC, industry representatives and local employers, and economic development organizations.
