All of the 2013 graduating students of the Truckee Meadows Community College Radiologic Technology program who have taken the national board examination in radiography (ARRT) have passed on their first attempt. One of the students place in the 99th percentile of all scores.

“This is another great outcome of our students and programs,” said Dr. Maria Sheehan, TMCC President. “These graduates are ready to serve the allied health workforce needs of our region or continue their education.”

The TMCC Radiologic Technology program provides a general and basic science education, combined with a sound foundation in the theory and art of radiologic technology to meet the educational needs of the students.  Students who complete the two year program graduate with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology.  As part of their education, students are placed in hospitals and clinics in Reno, Sparks, and Carson City and participate in patient x-ray examinations in the radiology department, surgery and emergency rooms.

Graduates of the program have the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist's Examination for Radiographers and generally start in positions in diagnostic radiology in hospitals, diagnostic imaging centers, medical clinics, emergency care facilities, surgery centers, orthopedic clinics, and doctor offices.
