New Certificate of Achievement offered at TMCC for Web Page Design

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) will offer a new Certificate of Achievement in Web Design beginning June 2013. The Web Design Certificate provides design and technical skills in the creation, development and production of static and dynamic content for us on the Internet. In addition to design fundamentals and content development, students will learn coding in HTML, CCS and javascript and will build a portfolio website as a capstone project.

The development of the program was funded by a U.S. Department of Labor grant which is designed to assist institutions of higher education to expand and improve their ability to deliver education and career training programs.

“The Web Design Certificate was developed to meet the needs of adults that want to earn a college credential while balancing work, family and other responsibilities,” said Barbara Walden, grant project manager at TMCC. “The majority of the course work is completed on-line with classes meeting only on Saturdays. The program is accelerated and can be completed in about half the time it takes to earn a traditional certificate.”

Class sizes are limited. For more information contact Barbara Walden at (775) 856-5304 or via email at To learn more about Truckee Meadows Community College, call 775-673-7000 or visit
