Students from many TMCC clubs will host a benefit event to raise money for victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing. The event will be Tuesday, April 30 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the V. James Eardley Student Center at the Dandini Campus of TMCC, and is open to the public.
The event will feature local Boston Marathon participants Amy Blomquist and Sonja Pippin, as well as an interfaith memorial service, live music and entertainment, and the VA Women’s Color Guard. Students have set a goal of $3,000 they hope to raise for this worthy cause.
All proceeds go to Wiggle Your Toes Foundation, which supports amputees and their families that have experienced limb loss in their recovery and rehabilitation efforts through consultation, planning and referrals. Wiggle Your Toes is donating 100% of the proceeds received to the victims who lost limbs as the result of the Boston Marathon Bombing. Wiggle will match all donations, up to $10,000.
Participating TMCC student clubs include Phi Beta Lambda, South Asian Students, Truckee Meadows Veterans Club, TMCC Toastmasters, Philippine United Student Organization, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship & TMCC Student Government Association.
