TMCC partners with NV Energy to create opportunities for renewable energy in northern Nevada
Representatives headed to National Clean Energy Summit in Las Vegas
WHAT: On Monday, TMCC will recognize a long-term partnership with NV Energy that has created the state’s first renewable energy program. The state-of-the-art classroom, located in the 96,000 square-foot IGT Applied Technology Center, is one of the most advanced renewable energy classrooms in the U.S. Featuring the latest technologies and hands-on training, the classroom ensures graduates are well-prepared to enter a variety of jobs including solar installers, home energy auditors and geothermal plant operators.
After the event, representatives from TMCC and NV Energy will be headed to Las Vegas to attend the National Clean Energy Summit. The Summit, which will focus on the future of energy, will feature Vice President Joe Biden, U.S. Senator Harry Reid and Michael Yackira of NV Energy.
WHO: Dr. Maria Sheehan – president of TMCC – and John Hargrove – conservation manager at NV Energy – will be joined by members of the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents and members of the TMCC Foundation.
