Flagger Certification Course

The Flagger Certification Course is a NDOT approved course that will teach participants how to be a safe and effective flagger in work zones. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to work on local, state and federal projects in Nevada that require a flagger certification card.

Certification cards are good for a period of two years.

Course Description

This four-hour course meets the basic requirements of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). At the end of the training, participants will know and understand:

  • The importance of proper signing
  • The importance of flagger positioning
  • The importance of a proper dress code
  • The proper use of flagger tools and signaling for stopping
  • Slowing and releasing traffic
  • The hazards of night time flagging
  • A temporary traffic control zone

Final Certification

Participants will be required to take a written exam. Those individuals who pass the exam will be certified to work on local, state and federal projects in Nevada which require flagger certification.

Registration

The registration fee is $55. Only online registration, money orders, certified checks or company checks made payable to the Board of Regents will be accepted.

Personal checks will not be accepted.

If you plan to mail in your registration, send payment along with this Flagger Certification Brochure and Form. The Registration fee must be received in our office five days prior to the class date. A minimum of five participants is required to hold each course.

Rescheduling

If you register for a course and do not attend on the date you specified, you must contact us and reschedule. Please leave your name and current phone number, so we may call you to confirm a date.
