ITO's Academic Computing section strives to provide and maintain the computer and network resources necessary to support the academic and instructional needs of TMCC.

Responsibilities
We are currently responsible for over 1,150 workstations, distributed between six geographic locations. These workstations can be grouped into the following functional categories.
Instructional Labs
Instructional Labs consist of classrooms with instructor and multiple student workstations.
Open Access Labs
Open Access Labs are general use computer labs accessible to all TMCC students.
Library Research
Library Research computers have limited Internet access for academic research and are also available to the public.
Admin Training
Admin Training utilizes a specialized academic image for applications training.
Smart Classrooms
Smart Classrooms are classrooms with varying levels of multimedia integration, such as VCRs, LCD Projectors, or Elmo projectors to name the most common systems.
Distance Ed
Distance Ed are Smart classrooms enabled to originate SNCAT (Sierra Nevada Cable Access Television) classes.
