iNtegrate Project Overview

Since 2005, the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) has actively investigated how to replace the existing NSHE legacy data system for human resources (known as the Human Resource Management System or HRMS), financials (known as Advantage) and student services (known as the Student Information Systems or SIS). These systems are 15 years or older, do not communicate with one another, and were created prior to the Internet becoming the de facto method by which people access information, especially today's students.

The original concept was to replace all three systems at once with one system that integrate data between them so that data would flow easily between HRMS, Advantage, and SIS. However, to do so would have cost over $100 million dollars. The NSHE campus presidents were asked to select which system to replace first in order to reduce costs. The Student Information System was chosen since it would have the most impact on improving services to and contributing to the success of students. The Transformation of NSHE Student Services PDF icon document explains key points regarding how a new Student Information System could achieve this. TMCC and UNLV were chosen as pilot schools for the implementation to lead the implementation for NSHE colleges and universities respectively.

The iNtegrate project will help the Nevada System of Higher Education serve our students more efficiently and effectively. On behalf of our sister NSHE institutions, TMCC is pleased and excited to be a pilot site for this innovative technology. During this period of economic downturn, it is more imperative than ever that higher education continue to use technology, improve our operational practices and enhance the educational experience of our students.

— Dr. Maria Sheehan, TMCC president

NSHE will operate under an iNtegrate Project Charter PDF icon that provides an encompassing overview of the project. In addition, TMCC has completed an iNtegrate Project Readiness Assessment PDF icon report which details the results of an review of TMCC's capability to implement the project and its associated challenges. Furthermore; NSHE has established an iNtegrate website. On that site, more historical documents related to the project can be found including informational project bulletins.
