Description: TMCC, Great Basin College and Western Nevada College are part of the Northern Nevada Consortium for Mining and Manufacturing. The Department of Labor award will enable the Consortium schools to address the needs for a highly skilled workforce for the state’s Manufacturing and Mining Sectors. TAA-eligible workers and other adults will benefit from the training provided in the areas of welding, industrial millwright, machine tooling/computer numerical control, manufacturing production/applied industrial technology and CISCO certified networking. Round 3 will use a Concierge Model for Non-Traditional-No-More Adult Learners. The Concierge will help students to complete the application process, and a Pathways Specialist will help students to navigate their course work and complete a certification and/or degree.
