External Funding and Grants
Grant Submission Procedures
All grant applications, regardless of amount, must be approved by your dean and vice president and then reviewed and submitted by the external funding and grants office.
Steps to submit a grant:
- Find a funding opportunity or develop an idea. (The external funding and grants office can assist you with locating a grantor, if necessary.)
- Fill out the preliminary approval request form. This step should be done at least 30 days prior to submission deadline.
- Obtain preliminary approval, (online request form will be forwarded automatically upon submission), from dean or division director and vice president (at least 30 days prior to submission deadline)
- Submit digital copies of the RFP for your grant (if a URL was not provided on the request form) to the external funding and grants office (email to grants@tmcc.edu) before noon on Wednesdays, for inclusion to cabinet meeting agenda. (President's cabinet meets year-round on Mondays.)
- Receive email from the external funding and grants office that your request has been approved (or denied).
- If approved, write grant proposal. (The external funding and grants office can assist you.)
- Send grant proposal to the external funding and grants office no later than 10 days prior to the submission deadline for final review and to obtain final signatures of approval by president or vice president.
- Await award letter and instructions for fund disbursement and reporting.
- Submit internal reports to the external funding and grants office as requested. (These reports are used for recognition of achievements and to disseminate newsworthy information to the president, vice presidents, your supervisor, the college and/or community.)
