TMCC will use its Congressionally-directed grant for the development and implementation of an online fast-track degree program. Courses will be offered ever five weeks, initially in the fields of business and criminal justice. The program will target students from several different backgrounds including: nontraditional, working Nevadans seeking career advancement or career change, the unemployed, and those who have served in the military. Courses will be designed to national standards, include a more personal level of interaction and support with students, and be offered online to improve flexibility an access for students. The program will utilize innovative strategies such as experiential learning credit, to "fast-track" students to successful completion of their degree. The program will partner with one or more four year institutions to provide a similar seamless 2+2 solution for completing a bachelor's degree. Business and public sector partnerships will also encourage community interest and support. |
