TMCC’s civil engineeringpractitioner program is
designed toprovide studentswith the skillsnecessary
to enter theworkforce to assist engineers in theday to
day activities of a civil engineeringfirm, a construction
contractor, or a government agency that employs
civil engineers. Civil engineering technicians (or
practitioners)will be able to collect field and laboratory
data, conduct elementary analysis, provide construction
quality control, cost estimating and computer-aided
designdrafting (CADD).
DEGREEOUTCOMES
Students completing thedegreewill:
• Apply current knowledge andadapt to emergingapplications of
science, technology, engineering, andmathematics (STEM).
• Collaboratewithothers, communicate effectively, and function
productivelyon teams.
• Identify, analyze, anddevelop solutions for engineeringproblems.
• Perform, analyze, and interpret standardizedfieldand laboratory
tests on engineeringmaterials, andapply results to improve
processes.
• Understandprofessional, ethical, and social responsibilities in
engineering.
