associateof sciencewith an emphasis in chemistry. The
curriculum includes a coreof courses in thephysical
sciences andmathematicswhich are advisedby the
AmericanChemical Society (ACS) for transfer to
anyACS accredited chemistryprogram. All courses
recommendedwill partially satisfy thebachelor of
science in chemistry at theUniversityofNevada, Reno.
EMPHASISOUTCOMES
Students completing the emphasiswill:

suchas stoichiometry, nomenclature, acids andbases, gas laws,
equilibrium, kinetics, thermochemistry, and electrochemistry.
• Demonstrate abasicknowledgeofOrganicChemistry in topics
suchas stoichiometry, organicnomenclature, acids andbases,
organic synthesis, reactionmechanisms, and spectroscopy.
• Demonstrateknowledgeof scientificmethods and the relationship
of theory, experiment, anddataanalysis.
