TMCC’s administrativeprofessionalAASdegree
provides studentswith the skillsneeded tobe
successful in today’s competitivebusiness environment.
Studentswill receive awell-rounded curriculum in
general education requirements.The emphasis of the
degree includes skills inofficeprocedures, computer
applications, communications, customer service,
accounting, and supervision.
DEGREEOUTCOMES
Students completing thedegreewill:
• Demonstrate advancedkeyboarding skills andan intermediate
knowledgeof hardware and software toperformawidevariety
of administrative tasks including electronicfiling, formatting
andproducingbusinessdocuments and spreadsheets, creating
presentations, developingandmaintainingdatabases, and
performing internet research tomeetmodernbusinessneeds.
• Model excellent communication skillsdemonstratedby the ability
toprovide excellent customer service to internal and external
customers; present information inapersuasive, logical, and
organizedmannerusing supportivevisual aids andprofessional
oral communication; andwrite informational, analytical, and
technical documents,whichareorganized, precise, and relevant.
• Performandunderstandgeneral officeprocedures to include
filing, equipment operation,mail distribution, phone calls, and
tasks requiringbasicmath calculations suchas inventoryand
bookkeeping.
• Managedailybusiness functions of anorganizationbyusing
effectiveproblem-solving techniques, consistentlymeeting
deadlines, effectivelymanagingofficeprojects and employees,
demonstratingprofessionalworkhabits suchas ethics, teamwork,
diversity, and confidentialityandmaintainingaprofessional
