This course provides the studentwith the essential concepts and techniques that are required for successful creation of two-dimensional
part geometry, generation and verification of 2 1/2 axis tool pathmodels, aswell as post processing of 2 1/2 axisNC codeswithin a
computer-aidedmanufacturing (CAM) system. Requires students to produce a variety of lab exercises on robotic (CNC)machinery
utilizingmulti-tool programs. Courseworkwill primarily focus on 2D geometry projects. Basic understanding ofmillingmachine
operations is recommended. This coursemay not transfer to a baccalaureate degree of art or sciencewithin the universities in theNevada
System ofHigher Education (NSHE).

This course is a continuation ofMTT292with the addition of simultaneous three axismotion control and provides the studentwith the
essential concepts and techniques that are required for successful creation of three-dimensional part geometry, solids, and surfacing,
generation and verification of three axis tool pathmodels, aswell as, post processing of three axisNC codeswithin a computer-aided
manufacturing (CAM) system. Requires students to produce a variety of lab exercises on robotic (CNC)machinery utilizingmulti-tool
programs.A familiarlywithMastercam, CNC programming techniques, andCNC operations is recommended. This coursemay not
transfer to a baccalaureate degree of art or sciencewithin the universities in theNevadaSystem ofHigher Education (NSHE).
