This course provides an understanding of the principles of entrepreneurship and the knowledge and tools required to develop a quality
business plan. Reflective of the body of entrepreneurship literature, student teamswill use creativity and innovation techniques to generate
new business ideas forwhich theywill develop original, realistic and effective business plans. This is intended as a "hands-on" experience
that explores the steps taken in the process of developing and presenting a proper business plan. Thiswill provide the opportunity for
student teams to participate in a variety of local business plan competitions. This coursemay not transfer to a baccalaureate degree of art or
sciencewithin the universities in theNevadaSystem ofHigher Education (NSHE).

This coursewill assist the student inmeeting theNational FireProtectionAgencyStandards related to firefightwellness. This includes, but
is not limited to,NFPA500 (FireDept. Occupational Safety andHealthProgram),NFPA1001 (Standard for Firefighter Professional
Qualifications) andNFPA1582 (Standard onMedical Requirements for FireFighters). This coursewill also assist the student in preparing
for the physical ability portion of FireServiceTesting. The course includes lectures on fitness, nutrition, stress and disease prevention. The
course also includes aerobic andmuscle development. Studentswill be required to complete a physical performed by a doctormeeting
NFPAstandards. This coursewill be required for those students not taking theFirefighter II program in theAcademy format. This course
may not transfer to a baccalaureate degree of art or sciencewithin the universities in theNevadaSystem ofHigher Education (NSHE).
