Prerequisite or corequisite: CHEM 242
Laboratory exercises in intermediate organic chemistrywith continued emphasis onmicro-scale organic reaction procedures. Introduction
to the identification of organic compounds using chemical and instrumentalmeans (qualitative analysis).
CISCO
CCNA InternetworkingFundamentals
CSCO 120
4.00
Prerequisite: None
Prerequisite: Strongly recommendminimumACCUPLACERReadingComprehension score of 74. This course introduces the
architecture, structure, functions, components, andmodels of the Internet and other computer networks. It uses theOSI andTCP layered
models to examine the nature and roles of protocols and services at the application, network, data link, and physical layers. The principles
and structure of IPaddressing and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations are introduced.
CCNARouting andSwitchingEssentials
CSCO 121
4.00
Prerequisite: CSCO 120with a 'C' or better.
This course describes the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switches in a small network. Students learn how to
configure a router and a switch for basic functionality. Studentswill configure and troubleshoot routers and switches and resolve common
issueswithRIPv1, RIPv2, single-area andmulti-areaOSPF, virtual LANs, and inter-VLAN routing in both IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
CCNAScalingNetworks
CSCO 220
3.00
Prerequisite: CSCO 121with aC or better.
This course describes the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switches in a larger andmore complex network. Students
learn how to configure routers and switches for advanced functionality. Studentswill configure and troubleshoot routers and switches and
resolve common issueswithOSPF, EIGRP, STP, andVTP in both IPv4 and IPv6 networks. Studentswill also develop the knowledge and
skills needed to implementDHCPandDNS operations in a network.
CCNAWANFundamentals
CSCO 221
3.00
Prerequisite: CSCO 220with aC or better.
This course discusses theWAN technologies and network services required by converged applications in a complex network. The course
enables students to understand the selection criteria of network devices andWAN technologies tomeet network requirements. Students
learn how to configure and troubleshoot network devices and resolve common issueswith data link protocols. Studentswill also develop
the knowledge and skills needed to implement IPSec and virtual private network (VPN) operations in a complex network.
Fundamentalsof NetworkSecurity
CSCO 230
4.00
Prerequisite: CSCO 121
TheFundamental ofNetworkSecurity course is designed to prepare students for entry level certification in network security. The course
is an introduction to network security and overall securityprocesses. The course teaches students to design and implement security
solutions to reduce the risk of revenue loss and network vulnerability. This coursemay not transfer to a baccalaureate degree of art or
sciencewithin the universities in theNevadaSystem ofHigher Education (NSHE).
CLINICALLABSPECIALIST
Phlebotomy
CLS 151
2.00
Prerequisite: None
Study of blood collectionmethodswith emphasis on patient preparation, order of draw, identification, sample collection, and selected
diagnostic tests performed in the clinical laboratory. This coursemust be taken concurrentlywithCLS 152, AppliedPhlebotomy. If
certification as aPhlebotomyTechnician by theAmericanSociety forClinical Pathology and licensure as aLabAssistant inNevada is
desired, CLS 153must be taken in addition toCLS 151 andCLS 152. This coursemay not transfer to a baccalaureate degree of art or
