ASSOCIATEOFSCIENCE
The associateof sciencedegree in elementary education
is designed for students seeking careers in elementary
education.Thedegree requirements include awell-
balancedgeneral education curriculum. Specific
curriculumprovides studentswith educational theory
andpractical fieldwork in the elementary education
school setting.This courseof study is designated as a
university transfer program that substantiallymeets the
requirements for thefirst twoyears of study for theB.S.
in elementarymajors atUNR.Also, pleasenote:Any
concerns or questions of requirementswhen entering a
teaching certificationprogramneed tobe addressedby
advisors at anyuniversityof interest.
For transfer intoUNR, elementary educationhas
emphasis embedded into three areas of focus: early
childhood (ECE), special education (sp.ed), orEnglish
language learners (ELL).
