Form Due Dates

Academic Standards submissions are due no later than 5 p.m. ten (10) days prior to the meeting.

Note: Packets and agenda items for Academic Standards should be submitted to the Committee Chair by 5 p.m. a minimum of ten (10) days preceding the next Academic Standards meeting. In the case of new and revised programs, degrees, and certificates, the relevant forms, including course-list, with necessary signatures (Assessment and Dean) should be submitted first to admissions and records who will then forward the packet on to the Academic Standards Chair. Admissions and records will notify the Dean if there is a problem. Forms can be found in the Guide to Curriculum and Program Development Procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To recommend policies on Academic Standards such as, but not limited to, grading, forgiveness policies, academic dishonesty, etc.
• To recommend policies for admission, registration, and retention of students.
• To recommend requirements for all degrees and certificates.
• To recommend, for approval, new certificates and degree programs.
• To recommend, for approval, changes to existing certificates and degree programs.
• To reserve the right to review existing certificates and degree programs (program reviews).
• To recommend the academic and summer school academic calendars.
• To publish and annually review, together with the Curriculum Committee, a guide to Curriculum and Program Development Procedures.
• To annually review, in cooperation with the Curriculum Committee, General Education curriculum requirements for the A.A., A.S., A.A.S., A.G.S., and all other degrees and certificates.
• To review and make recommendation on other topics as assigned by the Faculty Senate Chairperson with the approval of the Executive Board.
