Project Update — Red Mountain Fire Code Renovation
- June 9, 2008 – Student Services Summer Move

- May 27, 2008 – Internal Move Timeline

- May 2, 2008 – Pre Construction Notification
Many of you are already aware that we have been planning the Red Mountain Fire Code Project for many months now.
This project will ensure that our Red Mountain Building will meet all current fire codes. Heavy construction is due to begin May 17th following the last day of classes and be completed by August 22. The contractor will be completing the work in phases and closing down sections of the building at different times. These areas will be clearly marked and blocked off from foot traffic. No one will be allowed in those areas unless it is an urgent matter. If you need to get into an area for some reason please contact Facilities and we will arrange to get you into the area in question.
It may be necessary for the contractor to shut down power or water for small amounts of time during the project. If this is necessary you will be given a minimum of 24 hours notice.
Packing/moving
Please unplug all electrical devices, Please clear surfaces of all items. This includes files, papers and monitors. Please place the monitors under your desk. Clear the tops of bookshelves and take down all pictures/wall hangings unless they are screwed or bolted to the wall. Printers can stay in place. This will assist the contractor to come in and quickly protect all the items in the area before starting construction.
Signs
Facilities will provide directional or informational signs to redirect foot traffic to departments such as controller's, financial aid and admissions and records, that have a lot of walk in customers.
Parking
The old loading dock on the North side of Red Mountain will be used for materials staging and the contractor's trailer.
The (1) handicap spot in this area will be closed off for the duration of the project. We have additional handicap parking in lot JJ on the West side of Red Mountain and in front of the Sierra building.
The complete project description and schedule can be viewed at renovation.tmcc.edu. Also we will provide updates for changes or revisions to the schedule.
