- Saturday and Sunday, contact the on-duty supervisor

What do I do to submit a work request? ![]()
To submit a work request, please fill out our online Work Request Form.
What are the campus moving procedures? ![]()
The campus moving procedures are documented online.
Facilities Services schedules physical moves only when notified by Information Technology Services (ITS) that plans for a move have been completed and approved.
How does one get packing materials? ![]()
A facilities request must be sent to facilities services for boxes, packing tape, marking pens, labels and trash bags. These items will be delivered to your office. The maintenance department will distribute standard size boxes that you will use for packing your belongings. You can have as many boxes as you need. The size helps assure us that no one will be injured trying to pick up a box that is too heavy. It also allows the boxes to be securely taped shut and made stackable for ease of handing. Breakable pieces, art work, etc. should be handled by the owner to ensure its safety. Do not bring boxes from home to pack your things. Larger computer boxes will be delivered for packing your computer, cables and monitor.
If, for some reason, you have not received these packing items, please send an e-mail to facilities services and request the items that you need. The items will be brought to your office. When the move is finished, please break down the boxes and stack them. Submit a facilities request and boxes will be picked up for the next office move.
Note: Do not remove any telephones or telephone cabling. If you have any questions about telephones or cabling, please contact the ITO department.
Faculty or staff can pack as soon as their duties as instructors or staff members allow them to do so. If staff members can pack their area and still do their duties, they may pack anytime. The stacked boxes will remain there until the crew arrives for the scheduled move. Please label all furniture and boxes with the new room number and the owner's name. Do not use post-its as a label, unless you tape them on securely, because they tend to fall off without the tape.
What are faculty and staff packing responsibilities? ![]()
Each faculty or staff member is responsible for packing their entire office area, including emptying file cabinets.
Please consider taking this opportunity to thin out your files. Only the bottom drawer of vertical file cabinets can be left full. All other drawers must be boxed. Lock the files drawers only if you have a key to open them. All lateral file cabinets must be totally empty, or they will break apart during the move. As mentioned above, breakable items, art work, etc. should be removed by the owner to prevent breakage.
Bookcases and desks must be packed into the "standard size" boxes supplied. Again, all boxes must be labeled by the occupant stating their name and their new office room number. Two large computer boxes will be provided to place your computer, monitor, keyboard and all cables. Do not use these boxes for anything other than the computer and accessories. Label these computer boxes with your name and new office number. Label all furniture to be moved to the new office and label all unwanted furniture, to be removed for storage, as a recycled item. Notify the maintenance department through a Facilities Request, and they will pick them up.
What if a person is on vacation during a move? ![]()
If someone is leaving for the summer, they must fully pack their offices before they leave or work out a prior arrangement with someone in their office to pack on their behalf. The maintenance crew will not pack offices. Each office, when ready to move, should have nothing but empty office furniture, if the furniture is authorized to be moved, with labels on each piece and stacks of the standard size and computer boxes. Labels must be placed on each box indicating whose it is and to which office it goes. The computers, monitor, keyboard, etc. should be in the computer boxes. If the office is left unpacked or partially packed, it will cause a delay in the moving schedule so please pack completely before leaving on vacation.
Which areas will be moved first? ![]()
Facilities services will notify each office occupant when they will be moved. The entire office must be packed and ready to go when the move date arrives. If problems arise, please contact facilities services.
What if the room needs to be painted? ![]()
If any offices are to be painted during or after a move, please contact facilities services. This change will significantly affect the scheduling of the move and needs to be planned in advance. Note: Not all requests for painting will be accepted; please check with facilities services.
Are there campus move prerequisites? ![]()
