Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)

New: Be Prepared to Stay Safe & Healthy in Winter »»

The environmental health and safety mission is to support the Truckee Meadows Community College teaching and service functions. EHS assists organizational units in meeting their responsibility to protect the environment and to provide a safe and healthful place of employment and learning.

This program is also responsible for the removal of regulated waste from college facilities and for overseeing the proper disposal of the waste. The types of waste collected include laboratory reagents, spent solvents, batteries, fluorescent lights and used oil. EH&S also instructs generators in hazardous waste management, and waste minimization, as well as responding to chemical spills that occur on campus.

Additionally, we are concerned about occupational safety and general safety issues to include accident and injury prevention in our community.
