Culinary Arts

Welcome to the culinary arts program at Truckee Meadows Community College. The culinary arts program was established in 1979 and is accredited by the American Culinary Federation. TMCC offers three opportunities for college degrees and career advancement:

  • An associate of applied science degree in culinary arts
  • A certificate of achievement in culinary arts
  • A certificate of achievement in culinary arts, baking and pastry emphasis

Graduates from this program are eligible to apply for the first level certification as a certified culinarian, according to ACF standards. We also encourage students to join the local branch of ACF, the High Sierra Chefs Association, which offers scholarships to students who are members.

The program has completed a common course numbering system within the Nevada System of Higher Education to improve credit transfer between colleges. ACF certification also improves credit acceptance by other culinary schools in the United States.
