Career and Technical Education

Truckee Meadows Community College offers the most extensive selection of Career and Technical Education courses in northern Nevada. Emphasizing hands-on skills, the CTE programs offer Certificates of Achievement and AAS degrees in a diversity of subjects. Advisory committees consisting of local industry professionals monitor each program and provide guidance to ensure skills being taught meet employer expectations. As a result, graduates are well prepared for professional employment and are highly recruited for positions across northern Nevada.

Start in High School

TMCC's partnership with school districts also gives high school students the opportunity to earn Tech Prep credit in many programs before they enter college. Qualifying students may earn as much as 21 credits toward completion of a TMCC CTE degree while still attending high school. Other than paying a fee for admission to the college, Tech Prep students earn the credit for free saving not only time, but a significant amount of money.
