A prerequisite is a class, test or other requirement that must be completed before a student can take a higher level course. A co-requisite is a course that must be taken during the same semester as another course. Prerequisites are set for student success, and are the core credits you need to graduate. If you still feel you know the information that is going to be covered in the prerequisite class, you can contact Admissions and Records and ask about the Challenge Exam process. Or, you can contact the instructor of the class to ask permission to enroll in the class. However, you might need the prerequisite class/credit to graduate.
