Planning and Resource Allocation Council Committee

The Planning and Resource Allocation Council provides constituency-based support in the development of the college's annual strategic plan. Specifically, it:

  • Reviews and recommends institutional planning assumptions which provide a framework upon which units of the college can establish goals and objectives as a part of the annual planning process.
  • Reviews resource requests brought forward as priorities by the college senior staff composed of the president, vice president of academic affairs, vice president of finance and administrative services and the chief of student services.
  • Recommends allocation plan based on available resources and capacity.

About the Committee

The Planning and Resource Allocation Council is a subcommittee of the President's Advisory Council. Its members are comprised of a cross section of the college community. It is headed by the Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services and another co-chair who would serve a two-year term.

The Planning and Resource Allocation Council is formerly the Planning and Budget Council. As the college commits to an ongoing institutional planning process, the Planning and Resource Allocation Council is being directed to ensure that decisions regarding resource allocation are linked to institutional strategic initiatives. For FY 2013-2014, the PRAC's purpose is to provide constituency based support in the development of the College's annual strategic plan. Specifically: Review and update the College Strategic Master Plan; and review and modify as necessary the Guiding Principles and Priority Criteria in Resource Allocation.
