General Studies
Certificate of Achievement
The Associate of General Studies certificate of achievement
is highly flexible and allows students to combine classes from
a diverse set of disciplines and fields. The certificate may fit
personal needs or may be an important step in completion of the
Associate of General Studies degree.

Students completing the certificatewill:
• Demonstrate competencies specific to their choice of
occupational or general courses.

Great latitude is allowed in the selection of the 12 elective
credits. Choice of credits can focus on one area alone or
from any combination of occupational or general courses.
Developmental courses, those numbered less than 100,
cannot be applied to any degree or certificate.
Credits earned in manyWDCE “C” courses may be considered
nontraditional and must be approved by the vice president for
academic affairs and student services in order to be applied
to the associate of general studies degree. Please check with
a TMCC advisor for further information. TheWDCE “C” courses
may not be counted for financial aid credit requirements.
