Legitimacy and Mission Statement
In the spring semester of 2009 the Associated Student Government of Truckee Meadows Community College approved the formation of the American Society of Landscape Architecture Student Chapter. ASLA is a national non-profit organization that promotes the profession of Landscape Architecture. The state of Nevada’s professional chapter (NASLA) nominated our club to be recognized by National ASLA.
The primary mission of the new chapter is:
- To create a bridge between the students at TMCC interested in the profession of landscape architecture and the professional community of Northern Nevada.
- Perform outreach to the local community through events and activities to educate high school students and the general public about how landscape architecture helps make the world a better place and how to get involved at various levels.
