Welcome to the TMCC Anthropology program. The goals of the TMCC Anthropology program are to:

  • Provide quality, affordable, and accessible educational experiences in anthropology.
  • Serve the needs of residents and employers within the community.
  • Promote an appreciation of the value inherent in culturally diverse environments.
  • Provide a para-professional labor force for the changing field of anthropology worldwide.

Associate of Arts - Anthropology Emphasis

The Associate of Arts degree in Anthropology is designed for students seeking careers in anthropology or related fields.

The degree requirements include general education requirements to gain a breadth of knowledge in a wide array of disciplines. Students will also specialize in the theoretical, methodological, and topical concerns of anthropology.

This course of study is designed as a university transfer degree or can be tailored for those wishing an emphasis in applied anthropology to gain the practical knowledge to enter the workforce in entry level positions. The associate of arts degree is accepted at the University of Nevada, Reno and is fully transferable to most four-year schools in the nation.
