Transfer Student Academic Advisement

Degree seeking transfer students with less than 60 semester credits completed at another institution are required to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor to review your transcripts. The following steps must be completed prior to scheduling your advising appointment.

  1. Apply for admission
  2. Find out how your coursework from other institutions will transfer to TMCC by viewing the Transfer Articulation/Course Equivalency page. Have your official transcripts sent from each college or university you have attended to the admissions and records office. In order to have these transcripts evaluated, complete the degree audit report (DARS) request form. You may mail or fax the form to 775-673-7028 after you have registered for classes at TMCC.
  3. Take the free ACCUPLACER test if you have not completed college-level math and English at your previous school.
  4. Complete a free orientation.
  5. Call the academic advisement center at 775-673-7062 to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor. During registration periods, availability of appointments may exceed three weeks. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance. Please remember to bring a copy of your transcripts with you to your advising appointment even if you have already submitted a copy to admissions and records.
