On Track to Graduate

Graduate With a Big Smile

Welcome to On Track to Graduate, a group advising service designed to introduce you to all the advisement tools available on our website and through your MyTMCC student center. Understanding these tools will empower you to make informed decisions about how to meet your educational goals in an enjoyable and efficient manner.

If you completed SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration), you received a copy of our new student guidebook On Track to College, which provided you with information and resources designed to help you have a successful start with your college career at TMCC. Our On Track to Graduate introduces students to more tools and resources to help you successfully stay on track with college.

During the hands-on On Track workshop, Academic Advisors will help you better understand and navigate the college catalog, one of the most important tools available to you. The catalog contains information regarding college policies that affect students, degree program worksheets, and course descriptions including prerequisites and co-requisites. Using the catalog in conjunction with your Advisement Report or a What-If Scenario will help you create a long term educational plan, which you may then add to your MyTMCC Planner. Having a well-organized plan and a thorough understanding of degree requirements will keep you on track to meeting your goals.

It is important to understand your options if you plan to continue your educational journey once you graduate from TMCC. On Track to Graduate helps to ensure that all of your degree requirements have been or are planned to be met. We will also provide you with information to aid in the process to transferring to a university within the Nevada System of Higher Education or to an out of state school.

Allied health programs at TMCC require students to pass a variety of prerequisites before completing an separate application process. Academic Advisement has created two special On Track workshops gear toward students seeking entrance into either nursing or radiologic technology. During these specialized workshops, you will learn about the basics of applying into these programs including prerequisites, course planning, and application information. If you are considering applying into either of these programs and have not reviewed this information yet, attend On Track to Nursing or On Track to Radiology Technology.

We know your time is valuable. As such, On Track workshops are available at a variety of times, including evenings and weekends. Each workshop includes a 45 minute interactive session with 45 minutes for individual questions. On Track is available at the Dandini campus, the IGT Applied Technology Center on Edison Way, and the High Tech Center at Redfield on the Mt. Rose Highway.
